District Explorer Evening – Crossing the Canal

Date: 14th Jul 2019 Author: Scout Websites

Our Explorer Scouts from across the District competed in a challenge set by 1st Frimley Green and Mytchett’s Unit, to get across the Canal at Frimley Lodge Park whilst staying as dry as possible – using only pioneering poles, bamboo, rope, cardboard, tape, and bin bags.

They all took the challenge seriously, building some impressive rafts and bin bag suits, with some even making it across the water… before jumping in!

The evening ended with all of the uninvested Explorer Scouts making their promises and receiving their Scarves chest-deep in the Canal, as they were invested by our District Explorer Scout Commissioner, Phil.
